The most annoying month - October

My brother, Daniel says the witching hour is 12am. I don’t believe that. Infact, I don’t believe anything he says, really. He probably lies to me all the time. He just excuses his untrue facts with “I’m older than you.” I would say a comeback, like “Yeah, stupider, too.” But I would only say it in my head, as otherwise he would pinch me.  Anyway, my name is Tiffany, and it is the 24th of October. My mum said that after school this evening, we can go to B&Q to look for Halloween decorations. By the way - By the word, ‘can’, I mean forced to go. Anyway, if you can’t tell, I do NOT like this event.

It is 8 O’clock in the morning, and my mum is shouting for me to brush my teeth because otherwise, we’re going to be late for school. So, that is what I will now unwillingly do. I just got home from school, after just making it to my class on time. It is my last year in primary school, and I can’t wait for secondary school.

We just got back from B&Q, and my mum went all out. So much, that the decorations have overflowed into my room. Anyway, it was our last day of school before the half term today, so now we have seven days to relax. Oh, minus that one day (Halloween). I’ll write more in the morning on the 31st.

*Sigh* Ok, I am back now. My parents aren’t awake yet, nor my brother, but I just looked outside and my mum has definitely over-decorated. At least the halloween stuff in my bedroom is no longer there though!  Today I decided to stay inside in the evening, just to make sure I don’t get cursed by black cats or anything. That was a joke, by the way. I actually just want to stay inside because in my opinion, Halloween is overrated. Adults just spend their money to feed kids with sweets and sugar. And most of the adults don’t even know the kids! Imagine if the kid ate poison. Anyway, I plan to have a normal day, just… With my parents carving pumpkins, and dressing the cat up in a pumpkin costume. She does look funny in it- I can’t lie.  I will at least try to enjoy today.

My mum, my dad, my brother and I are going to carve pumpkins- this is my favorite part as I can carve anything I like.

This evening, I am forced to go trick-or-treating. I hope it won’t go that bad.

OK. I just found out that -trick-or-treating isn’t actually that bad. Here’s the story: Earlier this evening, I slowly walked out of the house, with a sad face and a witch’s hat. I decided I would try to have fun (spoiler alert), (I did). Anyway, I walked around a few houses, only to find that somebody was giving away a pet rat. They said that if anybody could carve a rat looking animal in a pumpkin, we could keep the pet rat for the rest of its life.

Anyway, as you read, I love carving pumpkins. So, I agreed. It sort of actually didn’t look like one, as I have never practised carving them before. However, I ended up winning, due to only some other kids entering, and mine actually kind of looked like a rat.

Everyone… Meet Casper the friendly ghost. If anybody asks- It is an albino vietnamese rat. I think halloween won’t be so bad anymore. Who knows... Maybe I’ll celebrate it next year!
