What makes a good student?

This time of the year is a tough one, in my opinion. Staying motivated is so important, yet so difficult. Obviously you nor I can be the 'perfect' student, we all have off days or imperfections but playing to your strengths and nurturing your weaknesses is a great thing to do.

Positive mindset- I cannot stress this enough, having a good attitude towards each and every lesson will help you want to do your best and ensure you put effort into everything you do. A strong mentality will lead to a better outlook towards your lessons. Always having something negative to say about yourself or school is only going to drag you down. I know it's hard but find at least one good thing about each lesson!

Organisation- colour coded, plastic wallets, folders or post-it-notes. Whatever allows you to sort out your work in a tidy and clear way, do it. Losing work is a teachers pet hate, keep everything in one place and sorted well- this helps for when it comes to revising.

Punctuality- arrive to your lessons on time, email in about missed classes. This dedication is key to impress your teachers and show you're interested in learning. Hand homework in on time and do not miss deadlines. This is really important, because it makes life easier for you as well as your teachers- less sanctions and a much better parents evening!

Always remember manners are free, and ten extra minutes on your phone at night rather than doing a quick bit of work is not worth it!
